Backup and Disaster Recovery

At Computer Troubleshooters, we specialize in protecting your data. We take it seriously. Many of the small and mid-sized businesses businesses we see think they are doing a good job but all too often, they aren’t. Want a quick check on your procedures? Below are a few questions to ask your current technician. If they don’t not score a “yes” on every point, you could be wide open to a very expensive, very frustrating computer disaster.

• Do you have an off-site backup of your data in a military grade facility (SAS 70 compliant) with mirrored locations?

• Do they INSIST on monitoring an offsite/onsite backup system, or are they letting your rely on outdated tape backups and/or removable disks?

• Do they INSIST on doing periodical test restores of your backups to make sure the data is not corrupt and could be restored in the event of a disaster?

• Have they provided you with written, network documentation detailing what software licenses you have, critical network passwords, and hardware information, or are they the only person with the “keys to the kingdom?”

• Can you and your staff easily recover a file on your own, or do they hold you hostage by forcing you to call THEM to retrieve an overwritten file?

• Did they explain to you that data backup is NOT disaster recovery, and that simply having an offsite copy of you data does NOT ensure you could be back up and running fast?

We work with clients of all sizes to come up with a backup and disaster recovery plan that is right for them and that fits their budget. And we guarantee your data can be recovered!
